Introduction to Bread Baking

· Want to learn how to make that wonderful loaf?
Well then - this is the course for you!
On this hands-on, full day course, you will make a range of British yeasted breads, following a series of easy steps from mixing the ingredients, to kneading, shaping, proving, and baking. The day will start with making the “everyday dough” to bake soft breakfast rolls. You will then follow on to make a variety of breads such as traditional tin loaves, a poppy seed bloomer, and an English cottage loaf. The course also includes an introduction to wholemeal flours to make wholesome rustic loaves. You will have individual help to learn many useful practical baking skills which you don’t get from recipe books. There is also time for discussions about the techniques, ingredients, and storage of bread. And of course, to ensure you continue baking the perfect loaf at home, recipe sheets and technique prompts are provided for you to take away.
“Baking for Christmas”, covers all the above techniques and will focus on recipes that help you and your loved ones enjoy the delights of the festive season, by baking loaves suitable for Turkey sandwiches, Lincolnshire Plum bread for afternoon tea, and savoury rolls.
The Day will include a 2 course baker’s lunch, refreshments during the day, and a bag of goodies which includes an Apron.
